The town caters for all age groups. Surrounding the town are many countryside, riverside and moorland walks and there are good sport facilities with a football and cricket pitch, a bowling club, tennis club, skate park and an open air swimming pool in the summertime. The A30 dual carriageway is only 5 miles away and Exeter is just about 20 miles.
A painted granite built entrance porch with a gabled slate roof and stone benches either side and a wall mounted carriage lamp. A broad studded front door leads into the entrance vestibule.
It is rare to find these vestibules intact these days and this one is built of painted timber with fitted bookshelves and exposed granite features. An ancient latched door leads into the sitting room.
A surprisingly generous sitting room with a large front window looking out to the churchyard and across the countryside to Castle Drogo. The room has a host of structural beams and timbers exposed and a large granite fireplace with granite returns and a huge bressemer beam above a granite hearth. It has a single drainer stainless steel sink, a fridge/freezer, space for an electric cooker and a wall mounted circulator hood and light. There is also a washer/dryer and a built in cupboard and shelves for crockery. A window looks out to the drang (pathway) at the side of the house.
A stained glass leaded door leads through into the rear lobby which has access to the alleyway to the side of the property. There is shelving and a large under stairs cupboard and a door to the downstairs w.c.
The downstairs w.c.has a high level cistern tank with a built in wash hand basin and a curved granite wall which would have been the original staircase.
A painted wooden staircase leads up to the landing which has a painted balustrade and eaves storage, some display niches and a window overlooking the drang.
