Weavers Cottage is one of the three original master weavers’ cottages built for the local woollen mill. It is thought to date from the 16th Century and is built of granite beneath a thatch and slate roof. It has thick stone walls and some cob interior walls, ancient beams and a big granite fireplace with a wood burning stove. The cottage has great character throughout and is well proportioned with a generous sitting room and dining room, a refitted kitchen with stone work surfaces, an upstairs shower room and three double bedrooms off the landing. Over the last two years the cottage has had new drainage, a new wood burner and flue, new front and back doors, extensive damp proofing and a complete redecoration throughout. The charming walled garden is south and west facing and has a pond with a trickling water feature, space for sitting out and a wooden shed.

Located just a one minute walk from the town square but set off the street on a private lane away from the bustle of the town. It enjoys peace and tranquility but has level access to Chagford’s excellent town square facilities. Chagford is an ancient stannary town and has a wide variety of day to day and specialist shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, a parish church, Roman Catholic church and chapel, primary school, pre school and Montessori. There are good sports facilities with a cricket and football pitch and pavilion in an idyllic spot, a tennis club, bowling club and an open air swimming pool in the summertime. Surrounding Chagford are a wide variety of moorland, countryside and riverside walks. The A30 dual carriageway is approximately 5 miles away and the county town of Exeter is approximately 20 miles.
