Manor Drive is set at the very edge of the ancient Stannary town of Chagford and East Stonehouse is bounded to its rear boundary by a field which it jointly owns. Deer and other wildlife are frequent visitors to the field. The nearby town square is bustling and lively with a wide range of day to day shops, pubs and cafes. The town has surgeries for doctors, dentists and vet and there is a library. It has a Parish church, Roman Catholic church and chapel, a primary school, pre school and Montessori school.
